Overall, my favorite part of the Allman Brothers was probably Dickey Betts's guitar playing. But Gregg Allman wrote at least a couple songs I loved. My college roommate's future wife was named Melissa.
Crossroads, will you ever let him go? Lord, Lord.
Or will you hide the dead man's ghost?
Or will he lie, beneath the clay?
Or will his spirit float away?

Sometimes I feel, sometimes I feel,
Like I been tied to the whippin' post.
Tied to the whippin' post, tied to the whippin' post.
Good Lord, I feel like I'm dyin'.
